MATTHEW 14 :

*LESSON 1 ~ (FEEDING 5000)

 - to minister to a starving world when you have nothing of yourself to and trusting God for it all. it's hearing God say, you can do nothing without me! but if you abide in me, then i will abide in you and you can do anything!

*LESSON 2 ~ (WALKING ON WATER)

 - even when you dont see him, he is there. it's God saying, In the midst of trials, i am going to be right there with you."

*LESSON 3 ~ (GOING TO A GENTILE LAND)

- Jesus loves gentiles.

MATTHEW 15 :

*LESSON 4 ~ (ARGUING WITH PHARISEES)

- what true spirituality really is, from the heart. (see also matthew 6) Christ desires a clean heart in us. (psalm 51 "create in me a clean heart O LORD - the prayer of a man after God's own heart)

*LESSON 5 ~ (FAITH OF A CANAANITE WOMAN)

- salvation goes to the gentiles as well

*LESSON 6 ~ (FEEDING THE 4000)

- God loves the gentiles just as much as the jews. in God's eyes, there is no difference between jew and gentile! gentiles are not second class citizens in the kingdom!

MATTHEW 16 :

*LESSON 7 ~ (FALSE TEACHING OF PHARISEES AND SADDUCEES)

- we need to always be on guard for false teachings, some of which seem really attractive. a second lesson here is that your priorities need to be to pay attention to what Jesus has to say and not what your fleshly needs or desires have to say (like your stomach)

*LESSON 8 ~ (FOUNDING OF THE CHURCH)

- Jesus was going to give them authority

*LESSON 9 ~ (MUST LOSE LIFE TO SAVE IT)

- they will suffer. to truly follow Jesus and proclaim the Gospel will bring persecution. this is one of the few guarantee's of the Christian life!

MATTHEW 17 :

*LESSON 10 ~ (TRANSFIGURATION)

- this was to give them hope. they had now seen Jesus in his glory.

*LESSON 11 (HEALING OF DEMON POSSESSED BOY)

- prayer is vitally important to ministry and spiritual life is both recieved and lived by faith.

*LESSON 12 (TEMPLE TAX)

- small things. we ought not to assert our rights at the expense of our witness. we need to be sensitive to give up our rights for the glory of God. we need to glorify God even in the little things.

MATTHEW 18 :

*LESSON 13 ~ (GREATEST IN KINGDOM)

- love all of God's children. be as humble as a child.

*LESSON 14 ~ (CHURCH DISCIPLINE)

- gentleness with the fallen and church discipline.

*LESSON 15 ~ (UNLIMITED FORGIVENESS)

- forgiveness. we have absolute no right to be unforgiving.

MATTHEW 19 :

*LESSON 16 ~ (FAITHFULNESS IN MARRIAGE)

- the excellence of marital faithfulness.

*LESSON 17 ~ (FAITH OF A CHILD)

- you mst believe as little children who don't doubt.

*LESSON 18 ~ (SAVED BY GRACE ALONE)

- salvation is possible only through divine grace.

MATHEW 20 :

*LESSON 19 ~ (REWARDED FOR STEWARDSHIP)

- you are rewarded for how well you do versus how long. it's not about how long you were a Christian, but how well you represented Christ while you were a Christian.

*LESSON 20 ~ (HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?!)

- to be great you must become a servant!
